Functional Guide:
Soluble Fiber (Binds Cholesterol)
Omega-3s (Improves Lipid Profile)
Low Glycemic (Insulin Control)
Strictly use Iodized Sea Salt
⚠️ Protocol: Select ONE option per meal. Hypothyroidism directly impairs the liver's ability to process and clear cholesterol, leading to secondary dyslipidemia (high LDL) and insulin resistance. This protocol focuses heavily on soluble fibers to actively bind and excrete cholesterol, low-glycemic complex carbohydrates to stabilize insulin, and iodine/selenium to support baseline thyroid function.
| Preparation: All cruciferous vegetables must be thoroughly cooked to destroy goitrogens. Use iodized sea salt exclusively to ensure the thyroid receives essential building blocks.
| Monitoring: Monitor lipid panels (LDL, HDL, Triglycerides) and fasting insulin/HbA1c levels alongside your standard thyroid panel every 3-6 months.

This meal plan is an educational nutritional framework only. It does not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. It must not be commenced without the written approval of a licensed physician or endocrinologist who has reviewed your complete thyroid and lipid panels.
Hashimoto's Exception If your hypothyroidism is autoimmune (Hashimoto's Thyroiditis), high iodine intake can actually trigger an autoimmune flare-up. Consult your doctor before focusing on iodine-rich foods like marine fish if you have elevated antibodies.
Medication Timing If you take Levothyroxine (Synthroid), it MUST be taken on an empty stomach 30-60 minutes before Meal 1. Calcium, iron, and coffee will severely block the absorption of thyroid medication.
Statin Interactions If you are taking cholesterol-lowering statins, note that grapefruit (used in this plan) can interfere with certain statin medications. Consult your physician regarding grapefruit consumption.
Fiber and Hydration Hypothyroidism frequently causes constipation. The high soluble fiber content in this plan must be accompanied by at least 3-4 liters of water daily to prevent bowel impaction.
