Functional Guide:
Tyrosine & Iodine (Hormone Building)
Selenium/Zinc (T3 Conversion)
Thermogenic (Boosts BMR)
Strictly avoid raw goitrogens (cabbage/soy)
⚠️ Protocol: Select ONE option per meal. Hypothyroidism severely reduces the Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) and causes extreme fatigue. This plan provides the exact mineral building blocks (Iodine + Tyrosine) required to synthesize T4, and the co-factors (Selenium + Zinc) required to convert inactive T4 into the active T3 hormone in the liver.
| Preparation: All cruciferous vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, kale) MUST be thoroughly cooked to deactivate goitrogens. Use iodized sea salt to ensure adequate iodine intake.
| Monitoring: Monitor energy levels, bowel motility (increased fiber combats constipation), and body temperature.

Extended Medical Disclaimer — Read Before Use
This meal plan is an educational nutritional framework only. It does not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. It must not be commenced without the written approval of a licensed physician or endocrinologist who has reviewed your complete thyroid panel.
Hashimoto's Exception If your hypothyroidism is autoimmune (Hashimoto's Thyroiditis), high iodine intake (like Kelp or Wakame) can actually trigger an autoimmune flare-up. Consult your doctor before using seaweeds if you have antibodies.
Medication Timing If you take Levothyroxine (Synthroid), it MUST be taken on an empty stomach 30-60 minutes before Meal 1. Calcium, iron, and coffee will severely block the absorption of thyroid medication.
Caloric Demands Because metabolism is slowed, caloric requirements are generally lower. However, severe calorie restriction will further downregulate thyroid function. Stick to the prescribed caloric baseline.
Fiber and Hydration Hypothyroidism frequently causes constipation due to slowed smooth muscle contraction. Ensure you drink at least 3-4 liters of water daily to assist the high-fiber foods in this plan.
