One chain.

A pelvis that drops on landing sends more load down the shin. Today the hip earns its keep.

The hip affects the shin

A pelvis that drops on landing increases load down the whole limb. Hip strength belongs in a shin programme.

Balance is a calf task

Standing on one leg is held largely by the calf and foot. Balance work is quiet calf training.

Claudication is different again

Calf pain that starts after a set walking distance and eases within minutes of standing still, especially with smoking or diabetes, is a circulation question.

Each couplet: 60 s scored → the loading set → 10 s to move on. Done at 12:00.

How to run it

  1. The shin muscles brake the foot on every landing. Weak there, and the bone takes the shock instead.
  2. Tibialis posterior holds the arch; tibialis anterior lowers the foot. Both get trained here.
  3. A hip that lets the pelvis drop sends more load down the shin — that is why hip work is in this phase.
  4. Burning along the front or inside of the shin during the set is expected. Point tenderness on the bone afterwards is not.
