Loading rate matters
How fast the load arrives matters as much as how big it is. That is why hopping comes last.

Phase 5 opens with elastic loading — short, stiff bounces that teach the calf to store and return force.

Bone responds to changes in the direction and rate of load, not just its size. Hopping, cutting and carrying all add something running does not.
A flare that settles within 24–48 hours is sensitivity, not new damage. Hold the level, do not stop.
Three couplets · two rounds · twelve minutes · legs that take the miles
Knees almost straight; bounce off the ankles with the quietest contact you can make.
Easier smaller hops · Harder higher
Tiny fast hops on the spot; the ankle barely bends and the heels never touch.
Easier slower · Harder one leg
Hop forward and back over a line, feet together, landing on the forefoot.
Easier step over · Harder faster
A small jump from a quarter squat; land forefoot first and roll silently to the heel.
Easier bodyweight squats · Harder higher
Rope or no rope; low quiet bounces landing on the balls of the feet — count turns.
Easier step-skip · Harder double time
Step off a low step, absorb on both forefeet and freeze for two seconds.
Easier lower step · Harder one leg
Each couplet: 60 s scored → the loading set → 10 s to move on. Done at 12:00.
